Back to school... for work, that is! I took a quick trip to Kassel to see Documenta 12 with some colleagues and students a few weeks ago, and BOY were we disappointed! I'm desperately in need of seeing some good, exciting, fun art after all that BS, and I've promised Simona never again to say a bad word about the Biennial of Venice. I'm comforting myself with our newfound dream of building a DIY-fabber at the KHiO 3D Media Lab (something like the fab@home or the reprap). We've already contacted the people of Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories to check out the possibilities of participating in their candyfab-project, and whatever it ends up with I'm sure it'll be fun!

It's been a quiet spring and now summer is almost here. The website has been remodelled yet again after some well founded criticism. I hope it's all clear and user friendly now (please tell me if it's not). I have deliberately not been working on any exhibitions this year but have instead focused all my effort on the planning of my new project: Metamorphosis - a Tribute to the MER. I've been through a long and intensive design and planning phase, and construction of the first sculpture is scheduled to commence in August this year. I've also been working a lot at the Academy, and they've offered me plenty more work for the autumn... Right now I have to admit the only thing on my mind is my new bike and the coming trip to Sardinia - have a good summer!

The new year started with a bang - I've been hired as support on the new CAD/CAM-laboratory at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo. I'll be working one day per week to start with, and our hope is to turn the school into a leading center (at least in this corner of the world) for the use of CAD/CAM-systems in artistic practice. It's all very exciting and I'm looking forward to being a part of this new development!

Returned from Japan yesterday after a fruitful and inspiring week. The best news is that I will be exhibiting in the Kyoto Metal Art Gallery in the autumn of 2008. The precise date has not yet been set, I'll make sure to announce it well ahead of the opening. I've added a "Others" section to this site with links to the work of friends and artists that inspire me. I've also added a link to the Japan-vlog in the menu.

I discovered quite by random that my work is currently being shown at the National Museum of Art, Architecture & Design in Oslo in the exhibition titled "Coming Together. New Aquisitions 2003-2006". I've also added a page with an overview of all my images to this website in the hope that search engines will finally discover the pictures of my works...

Summer is over and I'm fresh and energized and eager to get on with new projects! Our project in Tvedestrand is coming to an end and we'll be going down to tear it all apart around the 9th of September - thanks to all who came to see it, and for all the positive remarks in the media and our guest- book. The Norwegian Architectural Review gave us a bit of friendly attention both in their electronic and paper issues - great! From the 14th to 22nd of October I'll be going back to Japan for a short trip, hoping to meet up with old and new friends. I'll also be working part-time as a councillor for some of the master-students at the Oslo National College of the Arts this autumn. Some other things are in the pipeline and I'll get back with more info on that later. Cheers!

Finally! So, these are my updated pages, with a different style and somewhat different material - more stuff will be added soon! Hope everything works as it should, feel free to report any mistakes, broken links or similar!

I'm currently showing a project in Bokbyen Skagerrak, the booktown of Tvedestrand (NO) together with Simona Ferrari and Sigrun V. Olsen. We've built some installations related to books and the show opened for the general public on the 3rd of June this year. It sure felt good to build something big for once... Some info and pictures of the project can be found both here and on the brand new permanently/temporary site. Yep - Simona and I got the .eu domain, and within a short time we'll improve our website there and publish all our common projects. Our Japan-vlog will be expanded (yes, we still have 3 hours of unedited material!) and moved to the new site, but the few clips we've made so far can still be found here.

Have a great summer everyone!
